I am the coach of the Pownal #2 Midget A Boys team.  We played your North River #1 last weekend in O'Leary for the provincial title and came out on top.  I would like to pass on my congratulations to that team for their play in the season and in the provincials.  I was very impressed with the respect, dignity and true sportsmanship they displayed at the end of the game.  After receiving their silver medals they each came over and shook hands with our coaches and players and offered their congratulations to us.  Please pass this along to your NRMHA Executive at your convenience.

We are sheduled/invited to be at Naturally Fit Gym (Garfield Street in Charlottetown) @ 10:50 Thursday morning for a orientation and workout. This will be for one hour 11 - 12 noon. All players attending are asked to be dressed and ready to go for 11 a.m.

Should be fun!!!! 

I would like each player to bring a toonie to our game either Tuesday or Wednesday so we can purchase a turkey or two on behalf of the North River Midget A Team # 1, for the CBC Turkey Drive. As you are aware the turkey drive is an annual event to help those that are in need especially at this time of year. Thanks in advance for your generousity.

As previously discussed, this Saturday we have decided to take a Superior bus to our 7:10 p.m. game in Tignish. Tignish is a long run and a good opportunity for our team to travel together. We are hoping everyone can make the bus drive.
We would like everyone to meet at the APM around 4 p.m. on Saturday so we can get away at a reasonable time. Our team has talked in the dressing room and are looking forward to travelling together for this road game. Great opportunity for our players to get to no each other as well as our parent/s. The bus is open to all immediatiate family members with only one $35.00 fee for each player and his family (Ronota will be there to receive this upon bus loading at the APM). Hard to travel their cheaper, no driving responsibility and best of all an opportunity to relax.

Anyone that is unable to make the trip can you please contact Garry, Greg or Ronota.

Today, Sunday we are playing an exhibition game @ 5:45 p.m. at Cody Banks against Sherwood.

Monday we will have our own team practice at the APM at 8:40.

Prior to our Monday evening Practice at 7:30 we will be having our parents meeting. The 1st half will include parents and and players. The 2nd half part the players can get ready for their practice and the parents can continue with discussion the final agenda items.

Tuesday will be having our 1st league game at 7:30 p.m. in Cornwall (APM) vs Tyne Valley.

Today, Saturday we have our 2nd part of our home and home against Pownal, Crapaud @ 1:40 p.m..

We will be having an exhibition game this Sunday @ Cody Banks at 5:45 p.m. against Sherwood. Again, we ask that if you are unable to attend to please advise Garry, Greg or Ronta in advance (contact information can be found under the team staff bar on this website.

Our two Midget A Teams have been selected. Names can be found under the "Roster" section on the top of this website under each Team selection on the left of this page.

Our Team 1 will have home and home exhibition games with Pownal this weekend.

Games are scheduled as follows: Tomorrow, Friday night in Pownal at 7:10 p.m., with a return engagement in Crapaud on Saturday @ 1:40 p.m. All players are expected to be in attendance. Should you be unable to play please advise.

We will also be holding a practice Sunday evening at the APM @ 8:30 as well as Tuesday at 7:20 p.m. Hope to see all players in attendance. Again, should you be unable to attend these practices please advise.

We are also planning on having a parents meeting this Tuesday evening immediately after our practice. We hope that at least one parent would be able to attend.

We are finally ready for our upcoming season and we apprciate everyone's commitment thus far. See you at the rink.

We will be having a final intersquad game between Team 1 and Team 2 Tuesday (Nov. 1) @ 9 p.m. APM. All players are asked to be in attendance, dressed and ready to go for nine. The 24 game schedule will begin this upcoming weekend. Further information hopefully will be available Tuesday. See you at the rink!!!

Last night at PEIHA office there was a league meeting for Associations interested in icing Midget A teams. There is believed to be 18 teams with East and West Divisions (9 in each division). Both North River's teams would be heading West. Also joining our 2 NR teams would be Southside, 2 teams out of Summerside, Tignish, Alberton, O'Leary and Tyne  Valley. It looks like it will be a 24 game schedule, that will start the weekend of Nov. 5/6, 2011. North River game time (APM) icetimes will be Wednesday's @ 8:30 as well as every 2nd Sunday starting Nov. 6 at 8:30 and every 2nd Tuesday (9 p.m.) starting Nov. 1. Practice icetime is yet to be determined.
