Here's how it ended.  The top four teams finished with a 2 -1 record.  To decide where each team finished a goal differential percentage was used.

Hey folks,

A look at our schedule for the upcoming Kingston Electric Tournament.  Our team will play four games and once completed there will be a random draw to select which game will not count for us.  Please note our game time on Thursday as there was some confusion between schedules.

We also need to bring in food for the hospitality suite at the APM.  This will be operating Friday and Saturday.  Food can be dropped off at any time on these days and can be left in the fridge in the kitchen at the APM.  Dave and Kristy will be manning the room during the Ice Dogs scheduled time on Friday.
 
The Ice Dogs are in charge of 50/50 for our 4 games.  We would like to have volunteers in place prior to the first game.  Please forward your name to Kristy or Dave.

I hope everyone is enjoying their day off from school.  Don't forget to shovel the driveway and walk for your parents - very important.

Please note: We will be not practicing on Friday at 4:00 however we will be playing a game instead (see below)

The league game this morning against Kensington 1 is cancelled.  We will still be using this ice time for a fun hour. 

Any parents are encouraged to go on the ice, bring your gear and we'll have some fun with the kids.  Helmets are mandatory for liability reasons.

Game:  Saturday, Feb 25 @ 10:30 at the APM vs Kensington 1

Note:  Our ice time on Sunday has been cancelled.  This game will be played on Saturday instead.

***If Kensington can not make the game due to weather we will still be using the ice time (as long as the rink is not closed).  Any parent that wants to go on the ice, please bring your gear.***

What a great tournament!!!! 

I would like to extend my appreciation to each and every Ice Dog for your individual efforts this past weekend.  Your hard work and determination is a clear indication that this team is continuing to improve from a development standpoint as well as into team players. The crossover game was a well fought battle between two great teams with the Demons coming out on top.  I was proud of the way we played and the way we lost;  this team is a great example of true Sportmanship.

Rocket Shootout Ticket Information

We have 1 ticket per player and 1 parent ticket per player.

Group Pricing: The group rate is only valid on the basis of at least 20 additional tickets be sold.   

For others who want to go, you can receive group pricing if we have over 20 people.  The cost at group pricing is 10/adult, 5/child.  (regular price is 15 and 7).  We will need to know "ASAP" how many additional tickets are required per family, adult tickets and children tickets prior to Wednesday, Jan 4/2012.  These tickets will be purchased in advance and handed out prior to game time.  All ticket requests after this date will have to be purchased at full rate at the ticket window.

Please Note: Anyone that wishes to take advantage of the discount pricing is asked to email me @ monaghantrent@hotmail.com with the amount of tickets they require. Melissa MacRae will be purchasing these tickets for you in advance and you will be required to reimburse Melissa during the Saturday morning game time.

-Saturday, January 7/2012 - We are participating in the Vogue Optical Shooting for the Stars Shootout.  We ask all players to be at the rink early.  I would like to have everyone there with their equipment at least 1/2 hour before game time.  Anyone that can't make it is asked to let one of the coaching staff, coaches or managers, know so we can ensure the Rocket receive an accurate list of participants.  See the below information. 

Shooting for the Stars

 · You will need to be at the Charlottetown Civic Centre on your selected date 15 minutes before the game starts.

 · Team representative will need to pick-up the Team tickets at the ‘Will Call’ window for entrance into the game and provide a list of players in the order they will shoot.

· The teams will then be escorted to dressing rooms 5 & 6 where they will drop their gear off and then move to section 17 to watch the game.

· With 10 minutes remaining in the 1st period, the players will return to their respective dressing room to be ready to enter the ice when asked to do so by our in-game hostess.

· Players will line-up at respective benches and coaches must have players ready to go in the order they will shoot.

· Shooters will shoot on the opposing goalie and two shooters will go at the same time (one going each way). Once a pair of shooters start their break-aways, the next will move to centre ice to be ready to go when hostess calls them.

· After they shoot they will return to their respective benches.

· After all players have shot, the teams will return to their dressing rooms to change and then return to seats to watch game.

A big "Thank You" going out to everyone that helped out with the Smitty's fundraiser.  Your time is greatly appreciated.

IMPORTANT: Please let Kristy or Dave know as soon as possible if you can help out during the Smitty's fundraiser on Dec 19 between 5 and 7pm.  We are still looking to secure 6 - 8 parents.  We have "1" volunteer to date. 

- All ticket money must be returned in full by next Sunday's game or earlier.  Please remember that each player is responsible for the value of their allotted tickets.  No exceptions, please.

 Announcement: Dave and Kristy Arsenault have volunteered to fill the role of Team Managers of the Ice Dogs for the hockey season.  Thank you Dave and Kristy. 

  We will be starting some fundraising initiatives, for example 50/50 at all home games.  Please don't be shy and volunteer your time and voice to raise funds toward team expenses.  We will also be looking for a volunteer to organize and promote 50/50.

 **Any small corporate contributions or donations will be accepted**  

Additional Note:  Parents/players must fill out and return NRMHA Medical Form and return it ASAP

The newest member to the Coaching staff - Randy Doiron has accepted the Trainer/ Safety Person position for the 2011/2012 Ice Dog Season.  Thank you Randy.

We are still looking to secure a volunteer to fill the Manager role for this season.

Just a reminder.  Hockey PEI requires that every team has a Manager and Trainer.  These roles must be filled before league play begins.  Anyone interested can let me know.  All Trainers are required to take the Trainers course, if you don't have it already. This course is offered through Hockey PEI paid fully by our association.

Good news!  We are playing Thursday @ 5:10 at at the APM against Team 3.  See you at the rink.
