The Flames and Gulf Storm played to a 2-2 draw this evening in Rustico. Gulf Storm opened the scoring early in the first period only to have North River respond with a tying goal on a nice passing play with Cale Rogerson scoring and Nick Havenga picking up the assist. Kayden MacLeod received a nice pass from Max in the slot and scored the go ahead goal late in the second. Joe Hansen was stellar in goal even stopping a penalty shot late before the second period ended. The Storm scored the equalizer with three minutes remaining. Max Benton earned the hard hat award for his consistent play on the wing! See you in Crapaud tomorrow at 4:50 for practice. Good effort tonight boys! Keep it up!

The Flames finished out the regular season with a 3 to 1 win over the Souris Seahawks at Easrtern Kings Sportsplex. Connor Hennessey had a two point night with a goal and and an assist. Joe MacEachern and Willie Melanson also scored while Will Robinson and Carter MacFadyen picked up assists. Joe MacEachern earned the "Hard Hat" for his play on left wing.

The Flames found themselves down 3-0 early in the third but rallied with two goals in a 3-2 loss to Gulf Storm this evening. Connor Hennessey and Dixon MacLeod provided the scoring while Kayden and Max picked up assists. Joe Hansen earned the hard hat honors with some fine stops throughout the game. Next game is Monday in Alberton at 7:05 p.m. Come ready to play your best hockey guys!

The Flames had a difficult day losing twice to a couple of Nova Scotia teams today in the Summerside Tournament. This morning we lost 5-1 to Chebucto with Carter MacFadyen picking up the lone goal and this afternoon we were blanked 6-0 by Halifax. The boys perservered right to the end and battled well with both teams despite the lopsided scores! See you on Thursday and remember to bring your piece of paper!

The Flames opened the 2012 McCain's "AA" Tournament with a 5 to 3 victory over the Alberton Regals. Max Benton led the way with a hat trick and picked up the player of the game award. Cale Rogerson and Kaden MacLeod also scored for the Flames while Willie Melanson earned the Hard Hat. The Flames next game is against the Chebucto Atlantics at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. GO FLAMES GO!

The Flames passed the puck extremely well tonight in their 6-1 victory over Sherwood. Connor Hennessey, Dixon MacLeod, and Kayden MacLeod each had two goals while Max, Rowan, Will, and Dixon picked up the assists. Kayden made a fine deke scoring an exciting penalty shot goal. The hard hat award was presented to Rowan as he had many offensive chances from the point tonight. Next ice time is Thursday morning and then Friday night's game in Pownal.

Practice - Thursday morning at 6:00 am

The Flames were slow out of the gate, but found the back of the net nine times enroute to a 9-1 win over Charlottetown today. Cale Rogerson had the hattrick while Max Benton and Dixon MacLeod each scored a pair. Willie Melanson and Kayden MacLeod picked up single markers. Picking up assists were Connor (3), Nick Havenga (2), Will Robinson (2), Will MacPhail and Rowan Walsh. Joe MacEachern earned the hard hat award by making fine defensive plays throughout the game especially clearing pucks out of own zone. Have a great practice on Thursday in efforts to prepare for our weekend tournament in Moncton!

Practice - Monday at 4:50 p.m. in Crapaud

Kayden MacLeod scored four goals to power the Flames to an 8-0 victory over Souris this evening. Carter MacFadyen chipped in a pair and Nick Havenga and Will MacPhail finished out the scoring. Dixon MacLeod earned three assists while Max Benton had two and Will Robinson and Dylan Cameron earned single markers. Caleb Boswall stopped a breakaway in the final minute to preserve the shutout! Elliot Mallett earned the "hard hat" award for his consistent efforts on defense!

Continue to play well tomorrow against Charlottetown in our preparation for next week's Moncton tournament!

Practice - Thursday morning at 6:00 am

TASA broke open a tight game with three unanswered goals in the final three minutes to defeat the Flames 7-3 in the Semi Final game this morning. Max, Carter, and Kayden were the goal scorers while Max, Nick MIlls, Dylan, and Will Robinson picked up the assists. Carter and Will Robinson earned the player of the game awards while Cale earned the "hard hat". Congratulations to a fine display of hockey this weekend by the entire team! North River vs. TASA

The Flames defeated Acadia 2-1 in an exciting and well played game. Joe Hansen made some outstanding saves to pick up the win and the Player of the Game award as well. Cale Rogerson and Carter MacFadyen scored the unassisted markers. In the third game, we tied Antigonish 3-3 with goals from Connor Hennessey (2) and Cale Rogerson. Dixon MacLeod made some fine passes earning two assists while Elliot Mallett earned the other. As a result of the Flames fine play they advance to the semi finals tomorrow morning at 8am in Georgetown. Play hard and have fun tomorrow guys!

The Flames opened the scoring in the first period from a goal by Nick Mills and held onto the lead until one minute left in the game as Gulf Storm pulled their goalie for the extra skater to tie the game 1-1. The boys showed great effort battling hard throughout the game. Caleb Boswall made some fantastic saves earning the Player of the Game award. Will MacPhail had a strong game defensively and earned the other player of game award. Game two of the Montague tournament vs Acadia will be played in Georgetown at 11:10 tomorrow morning. Go get 'em Flames!

The Flames rebounded from a 4-2 loss to Alberton on Saturday by defeating them 3-1 Monday evening in Alberton. North River jumped out to a 2-0 lead at end of the first period with goals from Connor and Nick Havenga. Alberton made it a 2-1 game by end of the second before Dixon finalized the scoring making it 3-1. Assists went to Kayden MacLeod(2), Nick Havenga, Joe MacEachern, and Willie Melanson. Honorable mention goes to Kayden and Rowan for great games but the hard hat went to Joe Hansen for his stellar saves in goal.

Hoping we can continue our fine play into the Montague tournament with our first game Friday at 12:20. See you at practice on Thursday.

Alberton scored the winning goal with less than a minute remaining in the game and then completed the scoring with an empty net goal to defeat the Flames 4-2. Kayden MacLeod had a goal and an assist, Dixon helped out with two assists, and Connor Hennessey scored the second goal. Hopefully, the boys can continue their great play of late and pick up a win in Alberton on Monday. See you at practice Sunday evening.

A total team effort resulted in a 6-1 win over Souris this evening. The Flames made lots of passes to the open player and peppered the Souris goaltender with tons of shots. Nick Havenga and Dixon MacLeod led the way with a goal and two assists each. Rowan Walsh, Connor Hennessey, Carter MacFadyen and Kayden MacLeod completed the scoring while Carter, and Will Robinson picked up assists. Keep up the fine effort boys in your game versus Alberton this evening!

Practice - Tuesday morning at 7:20 am

The Flames jumped out to a 5-2 lead with goals from Dixon MacLeod, Nick Havenga, Nick Mills, Connor Hennessey, and Carter MacFadyen and held off a late attack from Gulf Storm to win the game 5-4. Will Robinson passed well throughout the game picking up two assists and earning the "hard hat" award. It's certainly nice to observe the improvement in each player's game from the beginning of the season till now! Keep up the great effort boys and I hope you have a wonderful Christmas!

The Flames came back from a 3-1 deficit to defeat the Capitals 7-4 this evening. Nice to see seven different players provide the scoring; those being Willie Melanson, Rowan Walsh, Kayden MacLeod, Dixon MacLeod, Carter MacFadyen, Cale Rogerson, and Connor Hennessey. Each goal had at least one assist which indicates "passing" on each play! Assists went to Nick Mills (2), Kayden MacLeod(2), Connor Hennessey, Cale Rogerson, Will Robinson, Rowan Walsh, and Dixon MacLeod. Will MacPhail earned the "hard hat" award for his consistent play on defense! Joe Hansen made some fine saves picking up the win. Great effort guys! The Flames outplayed Tignish this evening with some fine passing and excellent hustle to the puck outscoring the Aces 4-2. Goalscorers were Dixon MacLeod, Nick Mills, Max Benton, and Cale Rogerson while Joe MacEachern, Carter MacFadyen, and Nick Mills picked up assists. Will MacPhail played a strong game on defense and Willie Melanson earned the "hard hat" award for his excellent positioning as a high forward(f3). Caleb Boswall picked up the win making some key saves throughout the game. Keep up your fine play guys against Summerside tomorrow evening!

The Cole Harbour Wings came from behind to drop the Flames 6-3 in Game 3 of the Pownal Tournament. We came out flying scoring two goals in the first period but the wings answered with four of their own in the second grabbing a 4-3 lead heading into the third period. Carter MacFadyen led the Flames with a pair of goals while Dixon MacLeod had the other. Rowan Walsh and Nick Havenga picked up assists and were each awarded the player of the game awards for their fine defensive play. Dylan Cameron earned the "hard hat" award for his consistent play on defense. Congratulations on your fine effort in all three tournament games boys! See you at practise on Thursday.

The Flames brought their "A" game Friday morning by beating Summerside 6-1. The boys certainly improved their passing game by headmanning the puck more and as a result created more scoring chances. Dixon MacLeod scored a hattrick while Will Robinson, Cale Rogerson, and Rowan Walsh added singles. Will MacPhail played a strong game on defense earning the player of the game award and Kayden MacLeod took home the "hard hat" for his perserverance throughout the game. Next up is Cole Harbour tomorrow at 3:40 in Pownal. Looking forward to great performances from everyone!

Pownal scored two goals in last half of the third period to tie the Flames 4-4. Pownal took an early 2-0 lead but our boys battled back scoring four of their own in the second and third. Carter MacFadyen led North River with a pair of goals while Cale Rogerson and Nick Mills picked up singles. Connor Hennessey and Will MacPhail picked up one assist each. Joe Hansen once again made some game saving saves and earned the "hard hat" for his effort tonight! It was a fun game to watch guys! Keep it up!

North River vs. Pownal

The Flames played well at both ends of the rink this evening beating Charlottetown 10-2. Will Robinson picked up his first goal of the season and chipped in a couple of assists earning the "hard hat" award. Caleb Boswall picked up the win in goal. Our next opponent will be the Pownal Red Devils tomorrow at 3:50pm at the APM. We will need to be on top of our game to pick up the win. See you there.

By the way, I hope the Leafs can roll over the Bruins tonight!!

North River vs. Charlottetown

The Flames will be participating in a Mini Game during the first intermission of the Panthers game on Friday, December 2, 2011. Please  meet at CARI A foyer by 6:10 with hockey gear and both sets of jerseys.

The Flames lost 7-2 to a strong Riverview team today in their third game of the Early Bird Tournament. The boys played tough in the first period by skating and battling hard as well as Joe Hansen making some sensational saves and keeping the score to 2-0. Riverview scored two more in the second before Connor Hennessey scored with six seconds left in the second frame. The Blues then went up 7-1 before Cale Rogerson replied for the Flames on a rebound. Player of the game award was given to Joe Hansen for his stellar performance in goal and the "hard hat" award was presented to Max Benton for his consistent play on defense. Coaches are proud of how each one of you played throughout the tournament. See you at practice on Thursday.

The Flames lost to Summerside 4-3 in the second game of the tournament this morning. The boys battled hard playing fine defense and creating some offensive chances but came up just short. Dixon MacLeod led the attack by scoring twice while Dylan Cameron had the other goal. Joe MacEachern and Nick Mills picked up the assists. Player of the game was awarded to Dixon and the "hard hat" award was presented to Rowan Walsh. Game 3 vs Riverview tomorrow morning at 7:45.  Finish tourney with your best effort, boys!

Elliot Mallett who always covered for the pinching defenseman was awarded the "hard hat" award. Joe Hansen was solid in goal in picking up the win. Great effort by everyone!

The Flames rebounded from yesterday's game by playing a strong game defensively and creating more scoring chances enroute to a 4-3 win over Summerside. Kayden MacLeod led the Flames to a 5-1 victory over Sherwood by scoring a pair of goals and adding one assist. The boys showed great effort in their forecheck and backcheck as Sherwood coughed up the puck on numerous occasions. Joe MacEachern and Rowan Walsh played well in their end of the rink while Carter MacFadyen earned the "hard hat" award for his consistent offensive play. Caleb Boswall picked up the win in goal tonight. Keep up the fine play, Flames!

The Flames opened the scoring in the first period with goals from Carter MacFadyen and Nick Mills. Souris came back with two goals in the second period and the teams were tied heading into the third. Dylan Cameron scored twice in the third and Nick Mills picked up his second goal of the game to lift the Flames to 5 to 2 victory. The Flames had lots of good scoring chances throughout the game and passed the puck well. Nick Havenga played a strong game and made several great passes of his own to earn the "hard hat" award for today's game.

The Flames opened the scoring midway through the first period but then allowed two goals and found themselves down 2-1. With persistent pursuit of puck and fine effort by all the boys, the flames scored three unanswered goals to defeat the Falcons 5-2. Joe Hansen challenged the shooters well and made some fine saves in picking up the win. Goal scorers were Willie Melanson, Cale Rogerson, Kayden MacLeod, Nick Havenga, and Connor Hennessey. The boys skated well, played good positional hockey, made some nice passes even d to d, and fired shots on net when had the chance. Good stuff!! Player of the game(hard hat) was awarded to Nick Mills for his fine playmaking ability.

The Flames opened the 2011/12 regular season today with two wins. In the first game, both Nicholas Mills and Carter MacFadyen scored hattricks in aiding the Flames to a 10-1 victory over Charlottetown. Dixon MacLeod, Dylan Cameron, Elliot Mallett, and Kayden MacLeod notched single markers. Joe MacEachern played a strong defensive game and Joe Hansen picked his first regular season win.

The Flames faced Southside in their second game today defeating them 5-2. Five different flames contributed in the scoring with Nick Mills, Dixon MacLeod, Kayden MacLeod, Nicholas Havenga, and Dylan Cameron getting the credit. Max Benton and Will MacPhail played well on the defensive end while Caleb Boswall was solid in goal. The Flames improved their team game today by making more passes.

Congratulations on a fine start to the season boys! See you Thursday morning!

Pownal broke open a 2-2 tie late in the second period and then scored twice in the third to beat the Flames 5-2. Dixon Macleod played a strong game scoring twice.

The Flames first tournament of the year.

The annual 34th SPRMHA Early Bird Tournament will be held this year the weekend of November 24 - 27, 2011.  The tournament is held in the Sherwood-Charlottetown area in as many as seven different rinks.  The tournament is open to all AA and AAA male teams and AA females teams, in divisions from Novice to Midget.

In game one, our boys were up against some stiff competition with Shediac outscoring us 9-1. The loss gave us some incentive to improve our play in the second game. We began hustling to puck more and were making better passes building a 3-0 lead into the third complements of Max Benton's hattrick. Shediac responded with two goals late in third but the Flames squeaked out a 3-2 victory. Great effort guys!
