 Just a few notes concerning our upcoming Provincials Weekend.......

Bell Aliant is the major sponsor for the PeeWee Provincials and have provided us with some patches that HAVE to be sewn on the jerseys. The rules are they have to be present on the jersey for the player to play in the tournament. It was decided that they should go on just below the Hillside Motors patch on the front and offset if possible.....and no, I don't want to sew it myself, thanks....thanks for asking though:)

On the topic of jerseys, we will need the jerseys turned back in at the conclusion of our Provincial run. Hopefully, this will be late on Sunday.  Darryl has graciously offered to wash them all before returning them. 

The boys decided they would like to class the place up a bit over the weekend and have chosen to go with the collared shirt and tie look.  So, if we could have the boys all GQ-ed up for their enterance and exit of the rink, that would be great!

Finally, the $20 per family (I'm assuming everybody knows about this) to cover extra costs of running the provincials is due on Friday at the game. The sooner we can get this out of the way, the better. Thanks guys.

PICTURE DAY, BOYS!!! 

Just wanted to remind everybody so they remember to shave their whiskers before they leave the house!!! 

Busy week ahead for the Ice Hogs starting with a game in Slemon Park Tuesday evening at 5:45pm.   On Wednesday we are in Crapaud for a practice and Saturday is team pictures and a full ice practice at the APM Center at 4:10pm. 

The next Ice Hog ice time is our home game against Kensington on Sunday at 5pm at the APM Center.  Rumor mill is saying that we may be seeing another new affiliate player in the lineup for that game.......

A couple of weeks ago we asked for your position on whether or not the Ice Hogs are interested in entering the year end tournament in North River.  After hearing from most families, it has been decided that we will not be playing in this tournament.  Thanks everyone for your input on this decision. 

Ice Hog parents, please check our team schedule.  Our weekly practice has changed to Monday, February 6 at the APM instead of Wednesday in Crapaud.

The next ice time for the Ice Hogs will be a practice in Crapaud on Wednesday at 4:40pm.    CANCELLED DUE TO IMPENDING WEATHER. 

Well, it looks like it's no crossovers for the Ice Hogs, boys and girls.  We hope everybody had fun and have learned something that we can take to Hampton with us in a little over a months time.  Gonna be a fun time !!

Remember boys, being prepared and focused, executing our practiced team skills, and controlling our emotions during the game are the keys to our success. Please think about this as we continue on our way to securing a Provincial playoff spot. 

We are asking the parents for some feedback on the option of entering the North River Minor Hockey year end tournament.  We have not budgeted for this tournament and would have to approach each family for approximately $43 to take part. 

We have surrounded ourselves with some great sponsors this year which have afforded us the enviable position of not having to ask for any additional money from each of the players familys.  We take pride in this. We chose affordable tournaments for the boys to take part in this year and unfortunately, in our opinion, North River's didn't fall into this category.  That being said, we would like to know what your thoughts are on this. If the majority wishes to go into this 4th tournament for the boys this year, we will collect the money and go forward from there.

Please let us know your position on this by Friday, the 27th, so we can let the tournament organizers know where the Ice Hogs stand.

Just a reminder to all the Ice Hog families that the Rodd Hotels A Tournament in Pownal is next weekend beginning on Thursday.  Not sure what our schedule is yet, but please keep an eye on the site here and our calendar page for updates as they become available.

Next Ice Hog icetime is a shared practice on Wednesday, the 18th, in Crapaud at 4:40pm.  After that we have our own full ice practice on Friday at 5:10 the APM Center. 

Ice Hogs next game is on the road in Evangeline on Tuesday at 6:30.  Boys should be at the rink half and hour before hand and ready to hit the ice by 6:20.

Ice Hogs will be on the road at the end of the week with our first meeting with Kensington.  Game is in Kensington on Friday evening at 7:10pm.

Just a friendly reminder to all the Ice Dog Moms & Dads to please have the boys at the rink a half an hour before game time.  This should leave enough time for the boys to get their gear on and be ready for the pregame talk.  Thanks guys!

We have a practice time available to us on Friday January 6, at the APM at 7:30.  Hope to see all the boys there.

We, the Ice Hog executive, are asking all parents please make sure the boys don't bring any expensive electronic equipment to the dressing room for the rest of the season. We have had an incident where something new & shiny got broken by accident.  We don't want to see anything else get broken or worse yet, stolen, out of one of our dressing rooms.

First Ice Hog game of 2012 will take place at the rink in Slemon Park on Monday January 2 at 5:25pm.  Lets go Hogs!  Back to regular season play and the drive for our Provincial's playoff spot!!

Just a heads up Hog Moms and Dads that we have an exhibition game this Friday, December 30th, against the Sherwood Hawks at 5:10pm.  Lets go Hogs!!

Just as a reminder, we are now collecting the $30 for the practice jerseys.  They are expected to be ready before Christmas. Thanks.

The schedule for the George Trainor Classic has been released and the following are our game times:

Should we find ourselves in the situation, the crossover game is at 2:15pm at either Simmons or MacLaughlan A and the final is to be played at 6:00pm at MacLaughlan A.

Just a reminder of the extra full ice practice we have set up for Friday morning, December 23 at 7:50am.  Hopefully we can have all the boys there for that one.

We just received word this morning that our game on Tuesday in Summerside has been postponed until a later date.  Please keep an eye on our calender to see when it will be rescheduled.

A little heads up for everyone as we head into the festive Christmas season.  We have the Ice Dogs entered in the 2011 George Trainor Tournament which runs from Dec. 27 to the 29th.  Our schedule will be released this weekend so please check back to this webpage and watch your email for it.  If any of the boys can't attend any or all of the games, please let us know a few days ahead so we can use one of our affilate players as a fill in.  This year there will be a Shoot Out Competition which has to be signed up for by Dec. 16 (sorry for the late notice) There is a $5 sign up fee for the competition.  You can get the details on the whole tournament at:

Great job in Tignish on the weekend boys!!  Fun times on the bus and a big win on our longest on-island road trip!!  These are both results of great attitudes and team work.  Lets keep it going!!!

One more quick one!  We will be taking a bus to Tignish on Sunday and it will be pulling out of the APM parking lot at 2pm.  Each family's share is $42 and we'll be collecting this before we leave.  This should be a great team building exercise for the boys, all travelling together in such style!! haha  As was mentioned in an earlier email, please feel free to bring snacks for the trip, but we ask to please refrain from peanuts as we will have some folks on board with allergy issues. 

Also, as per the NRMHA, there will no consumption alcohol allowed on the bus.

For those of you who wish to book accomodations for the Hampton Tournament there are rates provided to us at the Hampton Inn & Suites in Saint John. 

Rates for rooms with 2 queen beds are $110.00.  Please give them our team name when making reservations.  Tournament runs weekend of March 2-4th. 

There are suites available outside of the block with 1 King bed and double pull-out couch at $159.00.  We will try for a better price on these but they will be located at a different area of the hotel.
