Results from the Edd McNeil Memorial Tournament
Over the last 2 days the Flames played 3 round robin games in a tournament in Summerside. It got off to a snowy start as the first game for the flames was suppose to be played tuesday evening but was cancelled due to the weather

The Flames drew some tough draws as the boys had to play first Summerside, then Pownal, and finally Kensington who have been impoving with each game we play them. The two games against Summerside and Pownal, the boys all played well and they were close games. The Flames could of beaten both teams but the goalies for Summerside and Pownal were on their "A" game. The Flames's goalies played excellent as well and kept the Flames in all 3 games. In the end, the Flames finished the tournament with a record of 1 win and 2 losses and missed out on the crossovers....GREAT TOURNAMENT TEAM !!!

For the three games played, below are the players who were the "HARD WORKERS of the GAME

Game 3 Pownal Tournament Vs. Summerside
On Friday afternoon the Flames played their second game of the day against Summerside. The Flames came out a little sluggish and Summerside was able to open the scoring. Summerside was relentless in the first period but for all that Summerside threw at the Flames, Summerside was only able to get one past the Flames goalie. The second period saw Summerside get another and carried a 2 - 0 lead into the third. The Flames tried to fight back in the third and the Flames played pretty good but Summerside was very hungry for the puck the whole game and any scoring chances the Flames had were soon turned away by those Summerside back checkers. Good effort guys.... Go TEAM !!!

In the last two periods the boys definitely out played and out chanced Charlottetown but somehow the pucks stayed out of the Charlottetown net. Saturday's away game in Summerside
On Saturday the Flames hit the road for their first league away game in Summerside. Summerside did a great job of passing the puck to the open man, hustling for the lose pucks, and getting back to help their defense.....

REMEMBER guys, it's a simple game when you play your positions.
1. Always hustle from the moment your skates hit the ice to the moment you are back on the bench for the shift change.
2. Forwards make sure you are hustling back to help your defense when the other team has the puck.
3. YOU CANNOT carry the puck through 2 or 3 guys from the other team, Pass the puck to the open man or chip it off the boards and pick it up on the other side.
4. PASS the puck, one player cannot do it all, it is easier to work as a team....
5. HUSTLE the whole game and never give up. It is a race to the puck. The team that is hungrier for the puck and wins the races will usually win the game.
6. SPREAD OUT and play your positions. Not much sense passing to your player if he is right beside you and covered by the other team. Spread out and get open with sticks on the ice to receive a pass.
7. Again, finally PASS the puck and lots of HUSTLE to the puck..... and remember have fun out there and do your best.
Go TEAM !!!

The Flames came out with more intensity, determination, and grit but Summerside's passing was still too much for the Flames to handle. Remember guys it is easier to pass the puck to the open man than trying to carry it through the whole team. Great effort today guys.... Go TEAM !!!

Sunday's "HARD WORKER of the GAME" was Ryan Richards who did a great job of skating hard the whole game and going to the net..... Way to go Ryan
