Bursary Opportunity

The 2020-21 U9 Flames (female) team is pleased to announce that they will be awarding a 1-time, $200 hockey bursary for the 2021-22 hockey season.

The bursary will be awarded to a female player in her first year of hockey in any level of hockey, U7 to U18, within our NRMHA.

We ask that you forward a written biography or video to:

Details should include name, contact information, division, why you should be selected for the scholarship, any community involvement, goals, any financial need, why you love the sport of hockey, etc.

Applications should be received no later than October 15th, 2021.

New to Hockey Female Camp

The North River Minor Hockey Association will again be offering a New to Hockey Camp for female players between the ages of 7 and 17 this fall. This camp is designed for players that have not played organized hockey in the past, who want to try hockey in a fun non-competitive environment.

The camp will include 8 x 1 hour sessions over 3 weeks, which will focus on learning the basics skills of hockey and the fun the sport can offer. It will be run by NRMHA Volunteers along with players from our female program.

  • October 4th, 2021 at 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM
  • October 6th, 2021 at 6:50 PM - 7:50 PM
  • October 9th, 2021 at 3:00 PM - 4:00 PM
  • October 11th, 2021 at 6:20 PM - 7:20 PM
  • October 14th, 2021 at 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM
  • October 16th,2021 at 10:20 AM - 11:20 AM
  • October 18th, 2021 at 7:30 PM - 8:30 PM
  • October 21st, 2021 at 5:10 PM - 6:10 PM

All ice times are at the APM Centre in Cornwall.

$80 / player

Any players who participate (who haven't been registered with NRMHA in the past two years) that register for the 2021-22 season with NRMHA this money will be deducted from their registration!

* If you are unsure of commitment to play, you do not need to register as this can be completed at the conclusion of the camp with no late fee.

** Equipment will be available to borrow for this event thanks to an Equipment Grant from Mott's Canada Dry. Details will be provided to players interested in registering.

All Female Officials Certification Clinic

The Hockey PEI Officiating Committee would like to make you aware of an upcoming female development opportunity for members in your area. The committee will be holding an all-female officials certification clinic at the Pownal Sports Centre on Saturday, September 25th. The clinic will include:

  • 8:00 am - 9:00 am Officials on-ice training development
  • 9:00 am - 3:00 pm Officials classroom training development

We encourage all new and returning level 1, 2, and 3 female hockey officials to get registered and attend!

NRMHA Female Bring A Friend To Try Hockey!

Does your daughter have a female friend that lives in the North River Minor Hockey Zone that would like to try hockey but just is not quite sure?

We are inviting all registered 2020-21 NRMHA U7 and U9 are invited to join a friend to try the sport that they love.

The session will be Saturday, Sept 25th at 11am at the Cornwall APM Centre. Registration is $10/new participant (registered 2020-21 players are free)

This is an opportunity for interested female hockey players to sample hockey alongside their friend prior to deciding to register in 2021-22. A one-hour fun session sampling the various aspects of hockey.

All participants must be in full hockey gear for this session.

Spaces are limited to 20 new participants, 20 registered players and 10 on-ice instructors/helpers

NRMHA Hockey Registration 2021- 2022

North River minor hockey is pleased to announce online registration is now open for the 2021-2022 season.

Link to register (a new account profile will need to be created). Please make sure all contact information - emails and phone numbers are accurate.

Please note: due to difficulties with the new HCR3.0 system, for families registering 3 or more children in U9-U18 will have to refer to the message at the end of the invoice that is emailed to find the correct corresponding discount and correct registration fees for the 2021-2022 season. The new program was unable to apply the correct discounts, sorry for any inconvenience.

In person Registration will be held at the APM Centre:

  • Saturday, September 11th - 9:00 am - Noon
  • Wednesday, September 15th - 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
  • Saturday, September 18th - 9:00 am - Noon   Final Registration Date

Rates:

  • Under 7 = $320 + $80 fundraising fee = $400
  • 1 player Under 9 - Under 18 = $470 + $80 fundraising fee = $550
  • 2 player Under 9 - Under 18 = $900 + $160 fundraising fee = $1,060
  • 3 players Under 9 - Under 18 = $1,220 + $240 fundraising fee = $1,460
  • 4 players Under 9 - Under 18 = $1,410 + $320 fundraising fee = $1,730

Payment method can be by cash or cheque(s).

E-transfer method can only be for full payment only - not for post dated payments.

E-transfer must have the player's name in the message - There is no password.

E-Transfer:

25% of fee is due by September 18th, 2021.

The remainder of the fee can be paid in 3 equal installments by post dated cheques due on:

  • October 9th
  • October 23rd
  • November 6th   Final Payment Date

**Late fee of $50/player for all returning player registration after September 18th, 2021.

We will be having a few "New to Hockey" events this fall. The dates are still being finalized, and all information will be shared on our website and our Facebook page in the next few weeks.

Do you know someone that is interested in giving Hockey a try?

NRMHA is excited to announce our "Come Try Hockey" is going ahead.

We will be offering two sessions for those wanting to try... (Must turn 4yrs old by December 31st, 2021).

Players must be in full gear.

Sessions will be held at the APM Centre:

Registration Open for CMHA Male Junior Recreational Hockey

The U21 Recreational League is non-checking and is for players between the ages of 18 and 21 who do not currently play junior hockey. The league is run by Charlottetown Minor Hockey but registration is open to players who have played with another association and also to students from off Island attending school. The player's birthdate must be between January 1, 2001 and December 31, 2003.

The U21 Rec League will play games beginning in mid-October, ending mid-March. Game times are 10:15 P.M. at the Bell Aliant Centre (CARI) on Mondays and Wednesdays. The registration cost is $250.00, which includes full Hockey Canada Insurance Coverage allowing players to wear a half visor while participating.

Note: Late registrations may be accepted with an additional fee of $25.00.

All players must be registered using our online registration system with full payment made before the first session.
