Welcome back
Welcome back to all Players and Parents to another season of Hockey. As we are all getting used to the new web site I appoligize for the delay on information about conditioning camps and tryouts. I want to thank Jason Inman (U18 Coordinator) for keeping everyone informed and regestering players for conditioning and tryouts. My name is David Lank and I will be back for season 11 with this Team. I have my good friend Kenneth MacFayden with me, his son Carter MacFayden, my nephew Mathew Lank and Blake Crozier to help with goalies. We are all looking forward to seeing some fimiluar faces and meet some new players and parents. I will give you an over view of how things will work over the next couple of weeks during selection camp.
The coaches expectations for players that want to play on the team are as fallows. We as coaches are committing our time to this team so we expect the players to do the same. I realize that these young men have other things on thier plate. Some play other sports, have work, girlfriends and of coarse a social life. We usually have a set shedule well in advance with as few surprises as possible so they can accomidate everything in thier life. As most of you know it takes some Money to run a team like this to enter tournaments, pay rep fees and run the team. I believe in the past it was $710.00 per player. We will most likley play a 28 league game schedule with our home games being Thursdays at 7:30 at the APM and usually 1 away game per week. Our practice time is Mondays at 8:40pm at the APM. We usually go in 3 on Island tournaments ( we are in the Earlybird now), Dieppe Feb 21st-23rd and provincials in March. We do expect players to attend all practices, games and team events throughout the year. So this is what we expect them to commit to.
Here is the schedule for the two weeks coming

We wish eveyone good luck over the next couple weeks have fun with it because thats what hockey is suposed to be about.Looking forward to getting back to the rink to meet some new people and see old faces. I would like to leave you with one last thing.
Picking a team is not my favrite part of coaching. Picking a team from a group of 40-30 great young men is not easy. We take 2 goalies 6 defence and 9 forwards. We as coaches try to pick the best TEAM. This will mean, yes unfortunatly some skilled players may be left behind and not everyone can make the team. We will AP players and they will get a chance to practice and play games. We had some AP players attend a lot of practices and some played upwards of 15 games with us. I know many of you parents and players and it is never easy to let anyone go. I hope all can respect our decisions as none of them are easy.
All the best
