Our team finished 2nd overall in the Tier 2 West Division. This has been a great success story & a complete turn around for our team from the first of the year. Here is the Provincials schedule for our team. Please try to have players there at the rink at least 45 mins before the game in order to be ready to go for game time. If you are not able to get them there early, please let someone on the coaching staff know this. Andrew & Dylan are away for the week & will be missing Provincials. Please be sure to contact another member of the team staff if you have any questions or concerns. Also we do have one more practice this Tuesday night before provincials & we would like to try to have all players there if possible. Hello all,

Over the past few weeks there have been a number of reports from across Canada about behavior of Parents in Minor Hockey Rinks.  Although none of these have occurred on PEI there have been some incidents around rinks on PEI that are occurring that we want to avoid.

At the HPEI mid-season meeting several points were raised around recruitment and retaining officials and we were asked to stress some points with our membership.  There are no circumstances when it is OK or acceptable to yell at, intimidate, or make negative comments towards officials.  They are human and they make mistakes.  If we continue to lose officials we will not be able to have games in minor hockey.  This is especially important when young officials are involved.  They are just learning and will inevitably make mistakes. Coaches are asked to work with officials in a positive manner and help with their development.  Abuse in the workplace is not acceptable.  

There also have been incidents of use of vulgar language and yelling at players from the stands and benches.  This has been occurring at alarming rates across minor hockey.  This behavior is not appropriate and is a form of bullying.  Under no circumstances should this behavior be acceptable on any team.   

Sportsmanship should be key.  NRMHA has a long history, and by times our association has been on both sides of the win/loss column.  Make sure our teams and fans both win and loose graciously and with class.  This role is shared by the players, coaches, parents, and all spectators associated with the team.

This is just a reminder of the Away game tonight in Rustico vs Rustico/Soutside. The game is at 6:10 and we ask to have players there 45 mins before game time. We realize that it doesn't give a lot of time for parents working until 5:00 and we also have to take the poor weather & road conditions into account. Please just take your time and be safe and try to have players there as close to the 45 mins before as possible. Safety comes first so if you need to take your time, please do so. If you think you are going to be late, please send a text to me (Greg) at 902-314-9684 as soon as you can so we know if your Son will be making the game, but just a bit late. The team calendar has been updated with all games in the 2nd half of our season except for 2 vs Charlottetown which will be added in when we get the confirmation dates from the Charlottetown Team. Both games will be home games for the Charlottetown Team. Also you will notice that we will only be traveling outside of Cornwall 4 times in the 2nd half with the furthest rink being Summerside. You will also see the teams that are in our Tier 2 Division. These are all teams that we should have success playing. The only way we can be successful is if we continue to work hard every practice, listen to what is being said by the coaches, apply what you have learned in practice in game situations, and always come to the rink with a positive attitude & a willingness to learn. The entire coaching staff want you to have fun, but ultimately to learn new skills to help develop you into a better hockey player & teammate. This can only be achieved if the effort is put in by all team members at every practice & every game. See you all at practice.

Hello folks,

For those of you who are not aware we have players on the team that have anaphylactic allergies to a number of foods so we will have a 'food free dressing room' this year. We would also ask players to refrain from eating peanuts or peanut butter prior to coming to the rink. 

Could those of you who have not filled out a health form for the trainor yet, please download one from the NRMHA website, complete it and turn it in to our trainor Randy Doiron.
