The North River Minor Hockey Association and its board of directors have worked tirelessly to provide a safe and secure environment for the 2020-21 hockey season.

Our players' health and well-being is our number one priority, which means we must work diligently to continue following protocols set in place by both the Chief Public Health Office and Hockey PEI. There is no perfect solution to a successful season during a pandemic, but by following guidelines provided by professionals, we will continue to play the game we all love.

With that being said, there have been several complaints in regards to disrespectful misconduct towards the COVID-19 operational plans set by our association and the rink our kids play in. These are strict procedures set in place by our board, our governing body Hockey PEI, as well as the APM Centre management.

There are no exceptions with these guidelines. Should a player, parent, guardian, or coach not follow the procedures set out in our operational plans, they will kindly be asked to leave the facility immediately without warning. That being said, there is a zero tolerance policy on disrespectful conduct towards volunteers and rink staff.

Procedures that must be followed include:

• Players must wear a mask throughout the arena and keep them on until it is time to put on their helmet and go on the ice
• Parents and coaches MUST wear their masks at ALL TIMES while inside of the arena
• Parents, guardians, etc. cannot watch the game or practice beside the glass, they MUST be seated in the stands
• Players, parents, guardians, and coaches must practice social distancing (6 feet) whenever possible

Failure to comply with these guidelines will result in immediate ejection from the arena. We understand that the pandemic has caused various anxieties and stress on everyone, but in order to continue our season in the safest manner possible, all rules set in place must be closely followed.
