API Hockey Pros Attack PressroomATTACK FIGHT BACK FOR CANCER12112009The Owen Sound Attack Hockey Club and players have joined forces with the Canadian Cancer Society to FIGHT BACK FOR CANCER a NEW event being held on March 6 2010 at the Harry Lumley Community Centre The afternoon events will include the Attack Players shaving their heads as a Kick off to Cops for Cancer the signature event for the Bluewater Unit of the Canadian Cancer Society In 2010 Cops for Cancer will be kicking off its 14th year in Grey and Bruce Today the Cops for Cancer campaign is one of the most successful Canadian Cancer Society events in all of Ontario The people of Grey and Bruce counties have taken the campaign to heart In the past 13 years area events have raised over $23 million dollars! Each year it gets better and better in some cases entire communities turn out for their communitys event The Attack players have decided to help with the fundraising by receiving pledges during game nights as well as online all funds raised will be designated to childrens cancer research To sponsor the team go to wwwcopsforcancerca after January 1 2010 or stop by the Attack box office to make your donation All donations over $20 will receive a tax receipt for the 2010 tax year The guys are really looking forward to growing their hair out for this popular event they just want to give back and with the proceeds going to childrens cancer research it was the perfect opportunity says Brent Fisher Director of Marketing and Public Relations for the Attack We just hope we can pack the event with people from all over Grey and Bruce it will be an awesome day The afternoon festivities will include the Attack Player head shaves a silent auction and autograph session During the evening the Attack host Erie for a 730 pm start time with the Chuck A Puck contest being held during the 2nd intermission We are always working hard to find something new and fun for Owen Sound this year we are introducing a Chuck A Puck skills competition says Jennifer Wright Fundraising Coordinator with the Society We really wanted people from Owen Sound to come out to not only enjoy the awesome hockey that the Attack play but to add an event to raise money for cancer Its easy its fun and everyone can play There will be 1600 pucks available for purchase and will sell for $2 each or 3 pucks for $5 During the 2nd intermission of the game puck purchasers will be asked to toss their pucks into centre ice towards the buckets Each bucket will contain one prize in order to win the puck must land either in the bucket or be closest to the bucket All pucks will be numbered and recorded with the purchasers name All the money raised from the Chuck a Puck will be designated to the transportation program with the society The game against Erie starts at 730pm Ticket prices are $1550 for adults $1450 for seniors $1350 for youth and kids under...
