Halifax Mooseheads Herd Hat ProgramThis year the Halifax Mooseheads are introducing a new program entitled the Herd Hat Program This unique program is targeted towards Minor Hockey Teams across Mainland Nova Scotia It is designed to encourage support and reward minor hockey players for their efforts and hard work they put in throughout the season The rewarded players are not always the kids that score the most goals but the ones who show pride heart and determination a motto that the Mooseheads have stood by since their inaugural season of 1994 Players who are awarded the Mooseheads Herd Hat will receive the following Official Halifax Mooseheads Herd Hat players can proudly wear this hard hat sign it and display it to teammates and family in recognition of hisher contribution to the team Certificate of Merit signed by Head Coach and General Manager Cam Russell which includes a place for the coach or manager to write in the name of the chosen player Subway voucher for one 6 inch sub Herd Hat winners name will be displayed on the Mooseheads website on the Herd Hat page How does the Herd Hat Program work First you must identify what qualities in your players that you want to motivate or improve Is it hard work effort sportsmanship leadership etc (these do not have to be skill related and can be very specific to each player) Choose a player to receive the Herd Hat every week The player will have ownership of the team Herd Hat until the end of that week (perhaps this is done after every weekly game or practice) the goal is to have every player on the team receive the reward at some point during the season Each Herd Hat recipient can sign the hat the week they ar...
