Weeks Crushers MJAHL Hockey Team SitesMiramichiDieppeCampbelltonSummersideWoodstockAmherstHalifaxLumberjacksTruroPictou CountyYarmouthJunior A LeaguesCJAHLMJAHLBCHLAJHLSJHLMJHLSIJHLNOJHLOPJHLCJHLLHJAAAQMJAHLJoey MacDonald Jersey to be Raised at Hector StadiumPictou Minor Hockey Association and Weeks Hockey Organization will pay tribute to Pictou native Joey MacDonald on Tuesday February 23rd with Joeys jersey being raised to roof at Hector Stadium There will be an opening ceremony followed by the Weeks Junior A Crushers hosting the Amherst Ramblers for their final regular season home game as a makeup of the January 3rd game that was cancelled due to weather A portion of the gate will be donated back to the Pictou Minor Hockey Association Joey began his hockey career in Pictou as a player with the Pictou Minor Hockey Association He progressed to the Pictou County Minor Hockey system in Pee Wee and continued his development in Pictou County in the Bantam and Midget ranks After his Major Junior hockey career Joey was signed by the Detroit Red Wings He spent time in the East Coast Hockey League and the American Hockey League before ultimately making his debut in the National Hockey League with the Detroit Red Wings on October 19th 2006 Joey is currently a member of the Toronto Maple Leafs organization and has divided his 20092010 season between the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Toronto Marlies I am honored to have my jersey recognized by the Pictou Minor Hockey Association and the Weeks Hockey Organization Both of these organizations played an important role in my early hockey development and ultimately in my ability to make it to the highest level I want to thank my family friends coaches and the Pictou County hockey community for all their support over the years Although I will not be able to be home for the game Im hoping everyone will come out to support the Crushers and help raise some much needs funding for Pictou Minor HockeyWade Taylor President of the Weeks Junior A Crushers states We are extremely pleased to be part of honoring Joey and it will mark the first time in our six year history where we will be playing a home game outside of the New Glasgow Stadium Joey is an alumnus of our Weeks Major Midgets and is a great ambassador of our programs so it is a no brainer for our organization to jump in and be part of this special night and partner with Pictou Minor Hockey Association Game time will be 730 with tickets sold at the door for adults $8 and studentsseniors $6 Crushers season ticket holder and corporate sponsors tickets will be honored for this game and it will be a great opportunity to view the final home game prior to playoffs which will begin the first week of March For more information contact Wade Taylor at 7527056 or Craig Clarke at 7525143Content Management Powered by CuteNewsSeason Ticket InformationWeeks Crushers Hockey is more ...
