Led by league leading scorer Rob Bogress the upstart Islanders losers of only 3 games all season won the 2009 Championship over defending champions THC 3 2 The score was indicative of how close the two teams played all year The final was only decided in the last 3 minutes when THC took an untimely penalty which ultimately cost them the game The stingy Islanders defense led by goalie Kevin Sawyer and defencemen Andy Dickie and Carey Prokop held back a furious THC onslaught that came in the final minute with THC enjoying the man advantage and also an extra attacker In the 3rd Place Game the surging Bruins led by Scratchy and The Kid defeated TTown 6 0 The Bruins served notice that they are better than their fifth place regular season finish and are a team to be reckoned with next season Kudos to all players They played with the determination skill and sportmanship which helps define our league Hopefully see you all next year !! 2009 Islanders (Missing KBruelsSBremnerCLappinAMacllelan) Sunday November 9SDRC Melts!
