Over the years a mixture of younger and older female athletes have been able to enjoy the learning the camaraderie and the thrill of friendly regional competition We focus on the fun and we warmly welcome players of all levels Our home rink is Prince William Ice Center located in Dale City Virginia about 20 miles south of Washington DC The Wildcats are members of USA Hockey and currently compete in the MidAtlantic Womens Hockey League (MAWHL) This league includes several skilllevel divisions to accommodate everyone from novices to highly advanced college and international level players! Our league games are divided between home games at PW Ice Center and away games around the WashingtonBaltimore Metro area Have ice hockey experience or would like to learn Contact Lori Krist or Pat Lyons Also check out the Adult Hockey Skills classes at the PW Ice Center there are plenty for the novice or advanced skater Monday January 18Wildcats Beat Wolves The Wildcats started their home series with a win over the Washington Wolves Saturday night despite losing a 2 goal lead The game was a closely contested one and at times a nailbiter The Wildcats forward lines continued to generate good offensive plays giving some players their first goals and others opportunities to continue on hot streaks Wildcats center Michele Forte scored the first goal of the game late in the first making it her 7th of the season She was assisted by forward Pat Lyons and defenseman Eve Borner who earned her first point of the season Forward Kim Hammers made a perfect goal when center Diane Sanders connected on a textbook tapetotape pass Waiting by the side of the net Hammers was in perfect position to take her shot and earning her first goal of the season Congratulations Kim! In the third period the Wolves rallied back from their 2 goal deficit scoring twice within 2 minutes It was anybodys game halfway through the third as things started to heat up and the Cats took a timeout At 612 the Wildcats answered the mail with a goal from forward Laura Zdenahlik with assists from Linda Sinrod and Diane Sanders making it Lauras first goal as a Wildcat Way to go Laura!
