API Hockey Pros NB PEI Major Midget Hockey League History Home News Scoreboard Schedule League Leaders Standings Links Player of the Week Archives Alumni Home League Executive Teams Records Awards HistoryPlayoffs Tournaments InquiriesFor Inquiries on the NBPEI Major Midget Hockey League please contactPresidentChris Chaissoncchaisson@eastlinkca(902) 5665668 work(902) 3688926 home Media Relations Website & StatisticsAJ Sports Mediamedia@ajsportsmediacom(902) 4396165 office(902) 4367573 faxLeague Award SponsorsSponsors HistoryLeague HistoryLeague History In BriefThe New Brunswick Prince Edward Island Major Midget AAA Hockey League came into being in 2002 when Hockey New Brunswick and Hockey PEI decided there should be one top development midget league for the two provinces At that same point Hockey Canada decided that midget hockey should encompass those from 1517 years of age which expanded the number of potential players It was decided there should be four teams in New Brunswick located in Fredericton Miramichi Moncton and Saint John and two teams from PEI based in Charlottetown and Cornwall At the same time in New Brunswick a provincial Midget AAA Development League was created to be along with the existing PEI Midget AAA Hockey League a feeder system John Collins the former president of the New Brunswick Midget AAA Hockey League was elected as the first president of the new league while Clair Murphy of Prince Edward Island was elected as vicepresident Goolie Brewer of Fredericton was later appointed secretarytreasurer At the 2004 Annual Meeting the first changing of the guard took place with Clair Murphy taking over as President Goolie Brewer as VicePresident and Kent Hudson as SecretaryTreasurer At the 2005 annual meeting Goolie Brewer notified the league that he would be unable to continue as league vicepesident and continue on to be president Wayne Fraser of Quispamsis NB was elected to replace him At the 2006 Annual Meeting Wayne Fraser assumed the presidency with Kent Hudson continuing as secretaryteasurer At the 2007 Annual Meeting Chris Chaisson of Stratford PEI was elected vicepresident and Jim Allaby took over as secretarytreasurer In May of 2008 acting vicepresident Chris Chaisson assumed the presidents role and appointed Trent Birt of Stratford PEI as the leagues secretarytreasurer The league is actively searching for the a candidate to take over the vicepresidents roleThroughout the first six seasons the original six teams continued to operate League Champions 200203 Fredericton Canadiens 200304 Fredericton Canadiens 200405 Fredericton Canadiens 200506 Saint John Vitos200607 Charlottetown Islanders 200708 Moncton Flyers 2009 NB PEI Major Midget Hockey League Login ...
